I'll be completely honest with you, the reason I decided to create this blog was that something like this has happened to me. In fact, I think that this has happened to everyone. Have your parents ever tried to control every single step you take in your life? I guess it's normal for them to worry, but still. There are some boundaries that must be respected.
Parents always think that they know more than us just because they have been here for a longer time, but that's not true. In today's world, teens know more about some things than parents. In some cases, parents come seeking help from their children in those matters, but what they do not want to admit is that those teens are smarter than them. You know why? It's because their ego comes in the way.
They need to understand that they are no longer in the 20th century where the elders were the only ones who had knowledge. This is the 21st century. We as teens may not have seen the whole world but that doesn't mean that we do not know anything. We do have experience in certain fields that our parents are not familiar with. Take technology into consideration. We see our parents using the latest phones, but as soon as a problem comes up with the phone they do not know who to deal with it. Instead of paying someone to solve their problems, we help them, and not only do we help them, but we also teach them how we solved it so if that problem ever came up they would know how to deal with it.
What I'm trying to say is that teens are not stupid and neither are parents. Both parents and teens need to understand each other. There shouldn't be any misunderstandings between one another. Both parties need to learn how to respect each other.
That's it for my first blog. Please like and comment.
See you next time.
